TO LOCATE PARTS INFORMATION If Noun Name ls Known Refer to the Alphabetical Index in this book This index lists all parts in alphabetical sequence by the noun name followed by location or application description and group number After the correct noun name is located turn to the group For example Shaft rear axle group 5 420 With model and identification information select the part number required lf the subgroup is known it is not necessary to refer to the Alphabetical Index it is merely a matter of finding the part alphabetically in the text subgroups lf Roun llame Is Rot Known a Refer to the Major Group Index on the first page of this book keeping in mind the assembly for which the part is required and determine the major group number For example if an Axle Shaft is required the major group number is 5 covering Rear AxIe if a main Drive Gear is required the major group is 4 covering Transmission b Refer to the illustration of the assembly for your particular model Locate the group in the illustration for the part required c Turn to the group indicated and locate the part required If Part Number ls Known Refer to the Numerical Index which indicates the group in which the part appears INSTRUCTIONS FOR ORDERING PARTS 1 Always show correct part number and name of part 2 Always show street address and full instructions for shipment 3 Do not designate quantity by sets State specifically how many parts are wanted 4 Specify when necessary whether parts are right or left handed painted or unpainted front or rear Left and right are determined by facing the same direction as driver Any part which is designated Front is always nearest the front of the vehicle AR AS REOUIRED PARTS A new code symbol has been added to this book It is a pound sign and when it appears following a part number i it means that in the parts distribution system that the part was AR or As Required at the time the book was j written By definition an AR part is a serviceable part for which there is extremely limited or questionable demand It is not stocked for service until demand warrants but can normally be supplied if proper ordering procedures are followed HOW TD ORDER AR PARTS 1 Order individually and separately from Stock Parts Orders A 2 If using an automated system enter your order off line via phone wire or mail 3 Provide the following information in the body of your order a AR Part b Firm Order Do Not Cancel i NOTE ORDERS FOR AR PARTS OAKNOT BE OAIIOELLED OR PARTS RETIIRKED PRIDE AKD AVAILABILITY WILL DE SUP PLIED IIPON REDIIEST
